The Citadelle is a mountaintop fortress in northern Haiti and the largest fortress in the Americas. The structure was completed in 1820 on top of the 3,000 foot Bonnet a L'Eveque mountain and acted as a lookout. The fortress was outfitted with 365 cannons.
