During the construction of towers, up to 7,000 worked. workers at the same time, who used 160,000 m² of concrete, 77 thousand m² of stainless steel, 208 piles 208 m long each covered with a 4.5 m thick reinforced concrete slab.

Despite the fact that the twin towers were designed by César Pelli, the construction of each was done by two independent companies: Samsung Constructions and Hazama Corporations.

Buildings have some of the deepest foundations in the world, up to 120 meters deep into the earth.

The horizontal cross-section of a single tower resembles an eight-armed star that reflects the Muslim heritage and is an Islamic symbol symbolizing stability, harmony and unity.
