The new futuristic headquarters of Apple Campus 2 will be built this year

A complex that looks like a spaceship was designed by the Foster + Partners office. The originator of the round shape of the building is the Apple boss Steve Jobs - died in 2011.

According to the plan, the complex is to be built by the end of 2016, it will be the most expensive office building in the world, because its cost according to unofficial sources has been increased from 3 to 5 billion dollars.

Located on a plot of 700 thousand. square meters, the building will have 4 floors that can accommodate over 13,000 employees.

In addition to offices with a total area of approx. 260 thousand square meters there will also be laboratories (about 28,000 m2), a café (serving up to 3,000 people at once), a large fitness center and an underground parking lot for 6,000 cars.

In addition to a stone floor and ceilings made of smooth architectural concrete, most of the building will be made of glass, which will allow more light to fall in and admire the areas around which 7,000 are planned to be planted. trees.

According to Tim Cook, the campus will be the most ecological building in the world. Thanks to our own power plant, huge solar panels on the roof (with an area of about 700,000 square feet), constant water filtration and its reuse, as well as ventilation based on efficient recuperators, the building will be self-sufficient, as 100% of its energy will come from renewable sources .

Thirteen thousand employees from a total of 80,000 employees will not be far from moving, as the new campus is just one mile from the current Silicon Valley campus.

At the yesterday's Apple conference devoted to new products, the company's chief - Tim Cook announced that the next year's conference will take place in the new auditorium of the emerging complex that can accommodate 1000 listeners.
