The Leaning Tower after 20 years again without scaffolding

After 20 years, the conservation of the famous The Leaning Tower of Pisa has been completed, thus enabling tourists to re-visit its interiors. The project is strengthen and partially straighten this 14th century building cost 27 million euros, its effect is to reduce the tower's inclination by 50 cm. The tilting increased by 1 mm per year, currently it is 3.99 m (previously 4.5 m), 56 meters.

The work was supervised by Michele Jamiołkowski from the Turin University of Technology. The method used by specialists in the foundations. The team of prof. Jamiołkowski gave the Lean Tower a guarantee for 300 years.

In addition to reducing the slope, the engineers and conservators scrupulously removed any dirt, and the walls of the tower.
