The International Congress Center in Katowice won the Architectural Award of "Polityka"

Nominations for the "Polityka" Weekly Architecture Award competition were submitted by a group of architects, art historians, activists and journalists.

This year, the final five were followed by the following projects: Cultural and Congress Center Jordanki in Toruń (project Menis Arquitectos), National Center of Music in Wrocław (designed by Kuryłowicz & Associates), house in Brenna (by KWK Promes by Robert Konieczny) and kindergarten "Yellow elephant" in Ostrów Mazowiecka (design of the XY studio).

The congress conglomerate with the centerpiece of the congress received 9 votes from all 14 casts in the first round.

The building measures 236 x 92 meters, has a usable area of ​​almost 35 thousand. square meters. The height of the building is 22 meters.

The main and largest hall of the building has 9,000. sqm. area and is able to accommodate 9,000 people in seated places or 12,000 on standing.

There is also an amphitheater conference room for six hundred people at the guests' disposal, a hall called a banquet with an area of ​​1.2 thousand. sqm. and 18 conference rooms.
