Sagrada Familia entered the last stage of construction

Designed by Antonio Gaudi in 1882, Barcelona Sagrada Familia entered the final stage construction. After more than 130 years since laying the cornerstone, the building is completed in nearly 70 percent. The last stage consists of building 6 towers, of which the highest (Tower of Jesus Christ) will be 172,5 meters high, which at the time of its completion will make this church the highest religious building in Europe.

Completion of the project is planned for 2026, in which the hundredth anniversary of Gaudi's death, who died tragically hit by a tram, falls.

Eventually, the building will consist of 18 towers dedicated to religious figures, among others Virgin Mary or four evangelists: Mateusz, Marek, Łukasz and Jan, each of them with different heights reflecting their hierarchy.

The main architect of the project, Jordi Fauli, informed that after finishing the construction of the towers for 4 to 6 years, finishing and decorative works can be finished.
