Mossack Fonseca is a Panamanian law firm which, revealed in April 2016 by German newspaper Süddeutsche Zeitung, has helped hide billions of dollars in tax havens around the world for A-Listers and world leaders including Icelandic Prime Minister Sigmundur Davíð Gunnlaugsson, footballer Leonel Messi, President of Argentina Mauricio Macri, King Salman bin Abdulaziz bin Abdulrahman Al Saud of Saudi Arabia, Khalifa bin Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan of UAE, Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani of Qatar, numerous business associates of Russian President Vladimir Putin, actor Jackie Chan, and many others.

The leak, known as 'The Panamanian Papers' includes over 11.5 million confidential banking documents linked to over 214,000 offshore companies set up by Mossack Fonseca. The documents date back to the 1970s
