Piggott’s Castle was built in 1892 by Charles Henry Piggott, who came to Portland, Oregon about 1877 from San Francisco. Piggott lived there about a year but was forced to sell it during the financial panic of 1893. The castle was condemned by the city until a couple purchased it in the early 1980's and restored it to its original condition. The castle is listed on National Register of Historic Places.
