Chalan Farm is a 34,000 sq/ft nearly all glass estate built by John Boulton, retired Columbia Electronics CEO. Upon receiving the Certificate of Occupancy on Chalan Farm, Boulton and his wife changed their mind and decided to move back to Manhattan.
Beneath the estate is an additional 17,000 sq/ft of basement space.
In 2001 the estate was for sale for $18m, then lowered to $12m, then put on auction which even failed to meet the $3m opening bid.
