James Castle McIntosh is a grandson of Harold Castle, a large landowner, real estate developer, and later philanthropist in Hawaii. McIntosh is Chairman of the Harold K.L. Castle Foundation, the largest private foundation in Hawaii. His family, who founded Castle & Cooke, was one of the primary landowners in the state.
