The artificial castle ruins, Janův Hrad ("John's castle", inGerman: Hansenburg) is located on the left bank of the river Thaya. It was built in the place of the ruins of a previous castle in 1801 according to the plans by the architect Joseph Hardtmuth at the order of Prince Aloys I of Liechtenstein.
