Årsta castle was built in 1650´s by admiral C.H. Bielkestierna. The exterior has changed very little since the 17th century. Årsta was Teutonic Order's Swedish residence during the Middle Ages. In the nineteenth century it was the home of author Fredrika Bremer (1801-1865).
