Works on the world's largest monument of Christ were completed
Today, a few minutes before 4 pm, the last two parts of the monument were completed, a crane that could lift the weighing elements to 750 tons was used for this purpose. The span of the monument's arms reaches 24 meters, and its height is over 50 meters, which makes it larger by 13 meters from the famous Statues of Christ the Savior from Rio de Janeiro.
The construction of the monument in Świebodzin was started in 2005, the originator was the parish priest of the p.w. Divine Mercy, Fr. Sylwester Zawadzki.
The monument is 50 meters high, of which 16 meters is a mound. The estimated weight of the entire structure is 440 tons, the weight of the head itself with a diameter of 3.5 meters with a gold-plated crown is 15 tons.
