The longest bridge in the world was put into operation

Danyang-Kunshan Grand Bridge is a new record holder in the world. Opened on June 30, 2011, the bridge is 42 km long and connects the port of Qingdao, located on the east coast of China with the nearby Huangdao Island. The one with 6 lanes, and 35 meters wide, was built in 10 billion yuan.
The whole structure is supported by the earthquake, typhoons and even the ship with a mass of 3,000. tone.
It was predicted that over 30,000 vehicles will pass a bridge, which gives about 80 million passengers a year.
Recall that the previous record holder was a 4 km shorter bridge Lake Pontchartrain Causeway in Louisiana.
