An unusual bridge was opened in Singapore
The world's first double helix bridge - the DNA structure model - was opened. The 280-meter-long bridge stretches over Marina Bay and is equipped with computer-controlled lighting designed to improve the well-being of walkers.
The bridge designed by the Cox Group, Arup and architect 61 groups consists of larger and smaller steel spirals twisted around each other. The whole structure weighs 1,700 tons and if it was extended, it would have a length of 2250 m. The bridge will connect Marina Center and Marina South, completing a 3.5-kilometer route around the bay over which there are business and financial centers, theme parks and entertainment, and a dozen other interesting places .
