The official residence of the President of the United States for almost 200 years. All presidents were there, except George Washington - the first president who chose the White House project and pointed out where he would stand.

In the building there are: 132 rooms, 32 bathrooms, 412 doors, 147 windows, 28 fireplaces, seven stair descents, 3 elevators, a cinema, a bowling alley and a room pool. The property also has a tennis court and a jogging track.

The main rooms are: the Blue Room, the China Room, the Diplomatic Reception Room, the East Room, the Green Room, the Library, the Map Room, the Red Room, the State Dining Room, Vermeil Room, Yellow Oval Room.

The State Dining Room can accommodate 140 guests.

In September 1994, Frank Corder crashed a stolen plane on the southern lawn of the estate. A month later, Francisco Duran opened fire in the building by shooting a rifle, no one was injured. In May 1995 Leland Modjeski climbed through a fence with a gun, he was shot on the lawn. On February 7, 2000, Robert Pickett was shot in the knee by a secret agent after refusing to put down his weapon and aiming at the White House.

In August 2001, the White House is restored. 40 renovation projects are completed. Corrupted entrances and falling columns are repaired. The building is repainted in "whispering white".

For a long time the residence has been known for the ghosts appearing there. The most popular is the spirit of President Abraham Lincoln, seen several times near his former bedroom.
