The complex consists of 19 buildings, the main skyscraper is General Electric Building, known as GE Building or 30 Rockefeller Plaza, it is the first and highest of the entire complex.
Rockefeller Center is the largest and most expensive private office complex in the world.
Once there was the Columbia University botanical garden, but it was leased by John D. Rockefeller with the intention of building three huge office buildings and an opera house here. < br />
In addition to a huge number of offices, the buildings also include shops, restaurants, hotels, entertainment venues, gardens and an artificial ice rink.
There are 488 elevators in the entire complex.
Another well-known Rockefeller Center building is the 156-meter International Building.
The complex was awarded the American Institute of Architects 25 Year Award in 1969.
In 1932 Radio City Music Hall was opened in the Rockefeller Center, currently there are 6,000 seats in the theater, every year there is a famous Christmas Show on which there are a lot of people, including in order to see the high and the most famous Christmas tree in the world and fireworks display.
There are also other headquarters of other famous companies, such as the NBC studio located on the 49th floor of the Rockefeller Plaza or the Time Warner headquarters.
