Burj Al Arab is the highest hotel in the world, being only a hotel and without offices. ( Jin Mao Building in Shanghai is higher but includes hotel and office space.)

 

Burj Al Arab is part of the Jumeirah Beach Resort, located 17 km south of Dubai.

This unique sail-shaped building proudly stands on an artificial island 280 meters into the sea, connected to the mainland with only a thin, winding path.

The building has, among others, several restaurants, viewing platform, 2 swimming pools, 2 diving pools, 18 treatment rooms, rooms with hydrotherapy and massages, solarium, sauna and jacuzzi, fitness studio, museum and library. There is also a reception desk on every floor.

The 202 luxury rooms equipped with the latest technology, including cameras, portable computers and internet access, there are 142 single apartments, 18 panoramic rooms, 4 club rooms, 28 double bedrooms, 6 triple bedrooms, 2 presidential suites and 2 royal suites.

Right after entering the building, the guests are amazed with a variety of colors, light and sound. There is the highest atrium in the world, with its 32 meter water column.

From the airport to the hotel you can get luxury Rolls Royce or helicopter landing at the airport located on the 27th floor of the hotel.

There were 3,500 people working on the construction site: designers, engineers and constructors.

For construction, 360,000 m was used? cement, over 9,000 tons of steel, an additional 250 steel piles driven into the ground to a depth of 40 meters, to secure the structure.

The outer facade blinds white during the day, and in the evening shimmers in colors like a rainbow, the surface of double Teflon is covered with fiberglass.
